Atacama desert in the North of Chile is one of the places in the world with highest solar irradiation and it hosts an industry, mining, which is highly intensive in Energy. The Inter American Development Bank selected STA to support the Chilean Government's effort to enable large scale development of solar energy. STA has prepared the bidding documents for the first CSP plant to be built in Chile and it is currently developing a feasibility analysis for four solar energy projects. The minimum capacity of the plant will be 10 MWe and storage capacity 3 hours. The project has already secured a grant equal to USD 40, soft financing USD 65 M and USD 400 M financing.

The Inter American Development Bank selected STA to support the Chilean Government’s effort to enable large scale development of solar energy.

STA has prepared the bidding documents for the first CSP plant to be built in Chile and it is currently developing a feasibility analysis for four solar energy projects.
